Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation for classes I to X.

CCE refers to a system of school based assessment that covers all aspects of student`s development. It includes the assessment in scholastic and co-scholastic aspects in pupil`s growth.

PART - 1 A: Scholastic Area-
FA: Formative Assessment,
SA: Summative Assessment.
For each Formative Assessment, one pen paper test is compulsory for all classes I to X

Note: i) In practical subjects a student has to pass in theory & practical separately.

For class XI : 2 Unit Tests, & for class XII: 2 Unit Tests will be conducted in each scholastic subject.

Formative Assessment and Summative Assessment:
All the assessments under CCE in respect of each student will be done in numerical marks and then overall assessment for all Formative Assessments and Summative Assessments will be given in grades.

  1. There will be no written examination for EVS in classes I and II in Summative Assessment 1. For them only oral test will be conducted.
  2. For each Summative Assessment, 15 minutes extra time will be given before the examinations for completing first page entries of the answer-books and reading the question paper.
  3. Result: For classes I to IX & XI for the academic session, the result will be declared on 31 March 2017.
  4. The date of completion of Class Attendance & Fees Register for 2017-18 is 31 March 2017.
  5. New Academic Session 2017-18 will commence w. e. f. 01 April 2017.

Part 1-B: Scholastic (Classes, Subjects, Grades)-
For classes I to III: Craft work, Art Education, Environmental Education and Music will be evaluated on 5 point scale (A*, A, B, C, D)
For classes IV and V:Computer Education, Art Education, Environmental Education and Music will be evaluated on 5 point scale (A*, A, B, C, D)

Part 2-B &C : Co-Scholastic Areas-
For Classes VI to X: Computer Education, Art Education and Physical & Health Education will be evaluated on 5 point scale (A, B, C,D,E)

Physical & Health Education For Classes VI to X
First Term :
Continuous assessment 40%, Assembly / Yoga : In Physical & health education period, yoga activities will be conducted for 10 minutes and assessment will be based on-

Part-2: A & D Co-scholastic areas-

For Classes I to X: Evaluation of this area deals with the collection of evidences regarding the change which occur in the learner's behavior during the teaching learning process. Based on these evidences, interpretation and judgment, the progress of the learner is arrived at and decisions taken. There will be no written examination as far as co-scholastic area is concerned. Teachers in a group will observe the behavioral change in the learner and assign the grades.

For Classes I to V: Grading will be done on a 3 point scale (A*, A, B)

For Classes VI to X: Grading will be done on a 5 point scale (A, B, C, D, and E)

These areas consist of:

Part - 3A & 3B: Co-scholastic Activities-

For Classes I to V : Grading will be done on a 3 point scale (A*,A,B)

SAC and PUVVN meetings are to be conducted quarterly. The tentative dates may change subject to the holidays or fall of any other event for the school.


For classes I-VIII:General promotion.
For classes IX & X:
  1. It would be mandatory for a student to appear in both the Summative Assessments in both Classes IX & X.
  2. In case of non appearance in Summative Assessments on grounds of illness, one more chance to appear in the SA 1 may be given up to 31st October in class IX. For SA 2 in class IX the chance for improvement of performance be allowed within a period of one month from the date of declaration of the result.
  3. Student would have to obtain at least 25% marks in Summative Assessments (both the SA 1 and SA 2 taken together) to be eligible to qualify the examination i. e. at least 15 marks out of 60 marks and total 33% in each of the five subjects of Scholastic areas, as per the present practice.

    For details Circular no COORD/EC-14.01/2013 dated 08.08.2013 may be referred.

    EIOP/Improvement test for class IX will be held from 06 to 14 April 2016.
For class XI:
A student must secure 33% in final weightage in each subject to pass the class. In practical subjects, the student must pass separately in theory & practical. The student failing in one subject may appear in compartment examination to be held on 06.04.2016 (Monday)

For class XII: As per CBSE norms

Note: It is mandatory for the students to appear in all the formative and the summative tests arranged by the school. A student cannot claim for promotion without attending all the tests.


  1. Any student found to have used unfair means during or after the examination will be awarded zero in the answer book.
  2. Absence without notice and without valid reason in any examination or part thereof excludes a student from being promoted to the next higher class.
  3. The academic performance of the pupils of class I to X will be indicated only in grades in all subjects both scholastic and co-scholastic.
  4. Minimum of 75% attendance is essential for appearing in the Board's Annual Examination. Leave is not counted as 'Presence'. Students having less than 75% attendance in any class will not be allowed to appear in the Annual Examination except on Medical Grounds.
  5. After SA-1, the progress report of the students will be sent to the parent/guardian for perusal, signature and return.
  6. For classes I to V, question cum answer-books will be provided for all pen paper tests.
  7. Students of class VI onwards will have printed question papers and separate answer-books.
