Fire and Safety SectionTo carry out industrial safety inspections through various safety committees & subcommittees & training activities for creating safety awareness.
Regular scheduled inspections are carried out by the designated Safety committees in the various technical buildings and laboratories along with the building safety and Deputy Building safety officers to inspect for any safety violations concerning electrical, Fire ,constructional activities ensuring compliance with safety codes ,regulations and practices thereby mitigating potential hazards to prevents accidents and injuries
Committee functions:
- Developing and implementing a site-specific safety plan
- Reviewing safety procedures and identifying potential hazards
- Monitoring safety performance and reporting issues
- Communicating safety concerns to relevant parties
- Facilitating incident investigations and reporting
There are two Internal safety inspection committees which broadly divides the technical area into 02 domains.
Apart from these there are following Safety Committees
- Safety Review Sub-committee for Heavy Material Handling, Construction and TDSG Activities
- Safety Review Sub-committee for Laser Group and Materials Science and Advanced Technology Group Activities
- Safety Review Sub-committee for Indus and EAG Activities
- Safety Review Sub-committee for ARPF and Industrial Accelerator Activities
- Safety Review Sub-committee for PAG Activities
- Synchrotron Radiation Beam Line Safety Sub-committee
- Safety Review Sub-committee for FEL Activities
