Mandate of the Division: To pursue research and development in the area of advanced lasers and their applications.

• Development of solid-state lasers of different kinds (both flash lamp pumped and diode pumped)
• Development of CW and pulsed fiber laser systems
• Applications of lasers in material processing and material characterization
• Development of customized electronic systems for in-house applications (Instrumentation for CW and pulsed electrometers, time synchronisation of lasers, FBG Interrogators, fast High voltage control circuits etc.).
