Engineering Design and Manufacturing Section is catering the needs of the “state of art technology” for manufacturing components and assemblies for the various programmes of RRCAT. This mainly includes precision and intricate machining, fabrication by welding and glass, ceramic & metal based sub – systems. Precision metrological measurement is also an important activity of the precision manufacturing. Glass & ceramic components development facility has fabricated various electrical feed through involving preparation of glass to metal seals. Such feed through are UHV compatible and are tailor made to suit a specific application.
