Fire and Safety SectionIssuance of Height Passes,Noise Level Measurements & Illumination Measurements
Safety is paramount, especially when working at elevated heights. Our Section is responsible for issuing Height Passes to workers and employees engaged in tasks requiring them to work at height. Rigorous tests are conducted, and certificates are issued only upon meeting stringent safety standards, ensuring the well-being of our workforce.

The Noise level measurement are carried out in various buildings( Workshop- A & B , LCW, PCU etc.) of RRCAT for occupational safety of employees working at noisy area. Where sound level is more than permissible limit, concerned employees have been suggested to use proper PPE. Similarly, F & SS regularly measure illumination levels at working areas of labs of RRCAT with the help of Digital Lux Meter.
Proper lighting in the workplace is important for safety and practicality. It protects workers from eye strain and accidents. Illumination measurements are done as per the Atomic Energy Factory Rules - 1996 using a digital lux meter (Lutron Lx-101A).Corrective measures are implemented for deficiencies identified during assessments.
