Beam Diagnostics Control System (BDCS) |
Beam diagnostics devices are required for monitoring electron beam attributes like current, position, shape, size etc. Some of the diagnostic devices that are installed in Indus-2 are:
- Beam ProfileMonitors (BPM)
- Beam Position Indicators (BPI)
- Direct-Current Current Transformer (DCCT)
- Srtiplines
BPMs are used to see the cross-section profile of the beam. BPIs are used to measure the beam position. DCCT provides information of accumulated beam current in Indus-2.BDCS controls and monitors all such devices placed in TL-3 and Indus-2 ring.
The system also facilitates control of devices for performing Slow Orbit Feedback (SOFB), tune measurement and Tune feedback control. The system consists of VME-based 9 EC station connected to 1 SC station.
