Indus Operation Coordination & Training Lab (IOCTL)

1. Coordination of round-the-clock operation of Indus facility


• Management & execution of Round-the-clock operation of Indus accelerators
• Performance review of Indus Operation is done through IACC meetings held twice a week. IOCTL is responsible for preparing and circulating the minutes and implementation of decisions taken regarding Indus operation
• Preparing documents, presentations and reports related to Indus operation
• Implementation and routine monitoring of Qualification Incentive Scheme for Staff involved in round-the-clock operation of Indus facility
• Managing web based applications related to the Indus operation
• Management of Shutdown activities
• Management of Auxiliary and General Purpose services related to Indus Operation e.g. ambulance, first aid center etc.


2. Training of Indus Operation Staff

Coordination of Training, Qualification and Licensing Programme for Indus operation and license renewal of existing staff

3. Implementation of Qualification Incentive Scheme for Operation of Indus facility

The Indus facility has been admitted under the Qualification Incentive Scheme of DAE. A total of 102 posts have been sanctioned for grant of Qualification Incentive Allowance (QIA) to eligible operators at qualifying levels 3, 4 and 5. The scheme has been implemented with effect from May 1, 2022.

4. Development, Maintenance & Upgradation of Radiation Safety Interlock System of Indus-1 and Indus-2


• Search and Scram system
• Door interlocks, Sirens and Flashing lamps
• Radiation Safety Interlocks
• Access control gates
