High-power RF circulator
High power RF circulators working at 505.8 MHz and 650 MHz, for RF systems of Indus-2 and horizontal test stand (HTS) for superconducting RF cavity testing, have been indigenously designed and developed. The circulator is built using a symmetrical Y-junction strip line coupled to a magnetically biased in house developed ferrite material. Electromagnetic design, RF design and mechanical design of the circulator was performed. Cooling circuits and flow rates are finalised for the central plate and ferrite by doing thermal simulations using ANSYS. After RF measurements and testing, the 505.8 MHz circulator has been installed in one of the RF stations of Indus-2 and is in regular operation and the 650 MHz circulator has been installed in RF system of HTS and is currently undergoing field tests.
