Room temperature and Super Conducting RF (SCRF) Cavities test and qualification
Under Proton Linear accelerator activity, RRCAT has a program to set up the infrastructure for development, characterizing, low power and high power testing and qualifying SCRF cavities in house. The proton LINAC will require different accelerating structures like RFQ, superconducting Radio Frequency (SCRF) cavities from low to medium and high beta. To test, characterize and qualify SC cavities at low power in VTS and at high RF power with coupler in HTS, solid state RF power amplifiers are developed. An RF system for room temperature as well as cryogenic RF characterization and qualification of 650 MHz (and 1.3 GHz) single and multi-cell SCRF cavities in VTS is developed including amplifiers, LLRF and GUI based data acquisition system is developed
