Welcome to the webpage of Materials Science Section. This section of Materials Science Group is engaged in a variety of R&D activities on materials and devices. A major emphasis is given for R&D on advanced light emitters and detectors based on conventional III-V and III-N semiconductors, and also on development of next generation quantum technologies. Fundamental physics problems related to semiconductor epitaxial layers, heterostructures, quantum wells, quantum dots, and nanostructures are being pursued by using a combination of optical, electrical and structural characterization techniques.
